Welcome to Troop 524!
Increasing responsibility, leadership experiences, camping, outdoor activities, service projects, and a challenging, individualized advancement program mentored by adult volunteers are key elements of the Boy Scout Program. Weekly meetings are led and run by the Scouts, with adult guidance. Members are introduced to over 120 hobby and career choices through merit badges and goal setting/achievement through an awards program that culminates in the rank of Eagle Scout.
Eligibility - Boys may join when they are at least 10 years old, or Have Earned the Arrow of Light Award, or completed Fifth Grade and are under the age of 18.
About Us
Boy Scouts of America Troop 524 was established in 1964 and its charter organization is the Epiphany Users Club. Weekly meetings are held at 7:00pm on Mondays at Epiphany Catholic Church in Coon Rapids, MN.
Although the Troop is sponsored by a Catholic organization, it is open to youth of any denomination. Troop 524 of Coon Rapids, MN is very proud of the 88 Scouts who have achieved Eagle Scout rank in the last 46 years and the many other Scouts who are advancing quickly toward that rank. Our adult counselors teach 60 different Merit Badges, and since Scouts only need 21 to become Eagle Scout they are sure to find an area of interst to match these badges within our Troop. We value all the Boy Scouts, ages 10 to 18 of all ranks who add diversity and creativity to the troop. We also welcome adults who are intersted in becoming a volunteer, and mentor.
